Monthly Professional Development Luncheons
The Chapter hosts regular monthly professional development luncheons featuring guest speakers who are primarily senior leaders from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the surrounding military community. These luncheons offer insights into mission priorities, emerging programs, leadership perspectives, and strategic initiatives across the Air and Space Forces. The Air Force Ball
The Chapter helps coordinate and lead the annual Air Force Ball, an event that commemorates the United States Air Force’s founding and celebrates its history and future. The Ball brings together Airmen, Guardians, families, and community partners for a night of tradition, ceremony, and fellowship. It is one of the most anticipated events of the year for the local Air and Space Forces community.
Dayton Air Show
As part of its advocate mission, the Chapter supports the annual Dayton Air Show by providing tickets to Airmen, Guardians, and families. This initiative helps connect the military community with one of the region’s premier aviation events, offering opportunities to experience world-class aerial demonstrations, interact with aviation professionals, and celebrate the spirit of flight.
Raider Ball
The AFA WMC coordinates the annual Raider Ball, an event that celebrates the legacy, professionalism, and accomplishments of Air Force units and personnel across the region. This formal evening includes remarks from distinguished guests, recognition of achievements, and opportunities to honor those who serve. The Raider Ball is a long-standing tradition that reinforces heritage and esprit de corps.

Pitsengbarger Event
The 2026 Pitsenbarger Event honors the legacy of Airman 1st Class William H. Pitsenbarger, a Medal of Honor recipient whose heroism continues to inspire generations of Airmen and Guardians. This program highlights service, sacrifice, and commitment to others through recognition activities, educational elements, or community engagement aligned with his legacy. The event strengthens awareness of Air Force heritage and exemplifies the values the Chapter strives to uphold.
Government & Community Relations
The AFA Wright Memorial Chapter’s Government and Community Relations efforts strengthen understanding, support, and collaboration between the Air and Space Forces and the broader Miami Valley community. Through education, outreach, and partnership, we help promote awareness of the missions, needs, and contributions of Airmen, Guardians, veterans, and their families. Our work aligns with AFA’s Advocacy mission at both the local and national levels, championing aerospace power to help inform policy and budget decisions that ensure our Air and Space Forces remain the strongest in the world. By fostering relationships with military units, civic organizations, educators, and industry partners, we serve as a bridge between the defense community and local stakeholders—promoting engagement, encouraging informed citizenship, and reinforcing the shared commitment to service, excellence, and national security.
Volunteer Initiatives
