WPAFB & Community Support

The Air and Space Forces Association Wright Memorial Chapter (AFA WMC) is deeply committed to supporting the Airmen, Guardians, families, civilians, and mission partners of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) and the surrounding community. Through dedicated outreach, collaboration, and volunteer engagement, the Chapter works closely with base leadership and community organizations to enhance quality of life, strengthen morale, and recognize the outstanding individuals who serve our nation. The WPAFB & Community Support function ensures that Chapter programs, resources, and partnerships directly align with the needs of the base and contribute meaningfully to the welfare and success of the entire WPAFB community.

Base and Airmen/Guardian Support

The Chapter serves as a direct connection point for programs that benefit Airmen and families assigned to WPAFB. Support activities include participation in Airman and Family Readiness events, assistance to the Airman’s Attic and USO Dayton, engagement with the First Term Airmen Center (FTAC), and involvement in other morale and welfare initiatives across the base. By maintaining strong relationships with installation leadership, Top 3, Top 5, and the Chiefs Group, the Chapter ensures its support aligns with mission priorities and truly meets the needs of those serving. The Chapter also actively contributes to recognition programs such as Quarterly and Annual Awards, Order of the Sword activities, and base-led appreciation events.

Community and Partnership Engagement

The Chapter builds and sustains partnerships with WPAFB-affiliated associations, civic groups, and regional organizations that support the military community. This includes coordination with the Air Force Sergeants Association, Company Grade Officers Council, Civilian Advisory Boards, veteran service organizations, and other mission-focused groups. The Chapter participates in Wright-Patt Club events, base open houses, and public engagement activities to strengthen visibility and reinforce its commitment to Airmen, Guardians, families, and veterans. These partnerships amplify support efforts and foster shared purpose across the Miami Valley.

Program Development and Execution

Through collaboration and innovation, the Chapter continually seeks new opportunities to enhance Airman and Guardian quality of life and support base priorities. This includes developing new programs, integrating base initiatives with broader Chapter activities, and ensuring volunteer participation for events that benefit the WPAFB community. The Chapter also coordinates donations, sponsorships, and recognition for members and organizations that contribute to these efforts. Program development is closely aligned with other Chapter functions such as Education, Membership, Community Relations, and Awards to ensure cohesive and meaningful impact.
