The Air Force Ball

General Hap Arnold and General Dwight Eisenhower advocated for our separate service! Every year, the Air Force celebrates its anniversary (September 18, 1947) ... and the AF Ball continues that advocacy in a celebratory way! The official birth of the USAF, as it is known today, is , when it became its own entity within the US Armed Forces.

This extraordinary formal celebration is open to the public, as AFA Dayton Wright Chapter and Wright Patterson Airforce Base partner together for a successful event yearly. The Air Force Ball focus is on honoring the exceptional personnel that energize the heartbeat of our nation. This joyous occasion brings together military personnel, their families, distinguished guests, and members of the community to celebrate the remarkable heritage and accomplishments of the Air Force as we shape the next generation of strategic capability. Our gathering during the Air Force Ball is just one historic reminder of what it means to be part of the world’s greatest Air Force!
